Let’s Shoot the Breeze and Plant Some Trees

Author: Sasha Johnston and Toni Chadwick

2020, what a year. In 12 months, the world did a lot of adjusting, with people’s milestones missed and plans scuppered in all areas of our lives. Luckily for us, we were able to celebrate (although not in the way we’d have liked) a decade of DNA, and last year was our most successful to date both for our clients and our welcoming of 8 new colleagues to the team.

There’s one ‘C’ word that’s been a hot topic, but we have a few other important ‘C’ words we want to draw some focus to.

COP26. Climate. Change.

COVID has swept climate change out of the headlines and business agendas, but it’s very much still a threat, which is why DNA are encouraging our clients and suppliers to follow our lead and plant trees in the names of their employees throughout the next year. We also wanted to give back to the local community and ‘Shoot the breeze. Plant some trees’ will help to revitalise Chelwood Scouts Camp, who provide outdoor and adventure activities to young people across the whole community. And needless to say, it’s a lot of fun coming together as a team to plant these trees – even if it is in the rain!

On a rainy day back in December, some of the team met to plant 26 trees – one for every DNA team member and one for each of the new DNA babies. These trees were very much needed to replace areas there that had been destroyed by Ash dieback. It was an incredibly fulfilling day, and we all want to do more for the environment and community. The New Year is the perfect time to launch our meet a tree initiative. In 2021, we’re digging deep. It’s the right time to mark our growth – we can’t think of a better way to do so than by giving back to the local community and the environment. Look at it as a chance for all of us to keep growing.

To be a part of it, all you have to do is have a no-strings attached 45-minute meeting with us; you get to chat to us, we can bend your ear about what we do and when all is said and done, we’ll plant a tree in your name. It’s as simple as that.

It’s easy to forget that the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) will be held in Glasgow later this year, and just because COVID-19 is still very much affecting our lives this doesn’t mean we can turn a blind eye to safeguarding the future of the planet. We’re doing our bit.

So, let us know when you’re free to meet (virtually), and you’ll not only be hearing of great ideas on how you could evolve your business, but also be helping the environment and local community. Pop Amy an email to book your appointment on amy@wearedna.co.uk or call us on 07946 703 789.
