Careers Sites

A good careers site brings your Employer Brand to life and harnesses technology to create a best in class candidate experience. It helps candidates experience life in your organisation and allows them to decide if it’s the place for them.

We follow a tried and tested process when developing a careers site:

  • Step 1 – Scoping and requirements gathering

At the outset, we need to know what good looks like for you. So we start with objectives and really understanding what you want to achieve. From there we work with you to define a scope of work including goals and objectives, site structure, content requirements (e.g. copy, video, original photography), template definition, functionality and ATS integration. We also offer an ATS consultancy process to help you find the right system for your organisation if required. Once the scope of work is approved, we move to the design phase.

  • Step 2 – Design

Initially we design two homepage concepts for you to choose from. Once decided, we move through the templates defined by the scope of work and get these signed off by any stakeholders before build commences.

  • Step 3 – Content gathering and production

Based on the site structure and templates, we create a content matrix aimed at gathering content for each page of the site. This can be supplied in rough format and our creative team will do the rest.

The site may require original photography, animation and video, as well as copy, and so we’ll create this as the site is in development.

  • Step 4 – HTML front end build

Once the designs are signed off, front end build of the templates begins. These are tested internally before being supplied to the back end developer to integrate into the content management system.

  • Step 5 – Back end development

Once we have the scope of work and signed off template designs, we can begin configuring the content management system. Once front end build is complete the back end developer integrates the templates into the system. If the site is integrated with an ATS, this happens at this stage.

  • Step 6 – Internal testing and content loading

Once the system has been built and templates integrated, our project team begins internal testing and loading the content we have produced for you. This is a rigorous process designed to ensure the site you receive for testing is as close to complete as possible.

  • Step 7 – User acceptance testing

Once internal testing is complete you receive the site for testing. You supply any amends and we complete these. Once ready we begin the go live process.

  • Step 8 – Go live

On page SEO is set up, along with any XML sitemaps for Google for Jobs and search engines. Analytics is added and tested. We agree a go live date and work with any internal stakeholders on the technical aspects of launch. Hosting is set up and then we go live. The site is tested, any redirects are completed and we can begin marketing the site to your audiences.

  • Step 9 – Review and optimisation

We’ll work closely with you to check the site is achieving objectives. We can supply monthly reporting and quarterly review meeting help us understand how the site is performing and how it can be optimised.
